How to share a Claude Artifact as a public link

Claude Artifacts let you generate a working HTML page, a report, or a small app right inside a conversation. The moment it looks good, you usually want to send it to someone: a teammate, a client, a friend. That is where people get stuck. The artifact lives inside Claude, and what you actually want is a plain, public URL anyone can open.

Handoff closes that gap. Copy the artifact's HTML, upload it, and get a permanent, human-readable link you control.

Sharing inside Claude vs a standalone URL

Claude can share an artifact through its own interface, which is convenient for quick collaboration. But sometimes you want something different:

A clean URL on a standalone web page, not a view tied to the Claude app.
A link anyone can open, with no account and no sign-in.
Version history, so the link stays the same while the artifact evolves.
The freedom to drop it in a pull request, a client email, Slack, or a doc, and trust that it renders.

When that is what you need, host the artifact's HTML on Handoff.

Three steps

In Claude, open your artifact and copy its HTML (or download the code).
Paste it into Handoff, or upload the file from your terminal:

Why a Handoff link works well for artifacts

Permanent, readable URL. @username/artifact-name is easy to share out loud or drop into a message.
Versioning built in. Re-upload with the same slug and the URL stays put while older versions remain accessible. Artifacts are iterative, so this matters.
Open to anyone. Viewers do not need a Claude account. They click and it renders on desktop or mobile.
Share it anywhere. A PR, a client thread, a doc, a Slack message. The artifact travels as a link, not a file attachment.
